hi! i am Micah Policarpio, BA Communication Research student and student assistant of the Communication Research department. i would like to ask for your permission to use this picture for the research study that we are conducting. this research study is about the environmental readiness of UP Diliman. and one of the pictures that we need is a picture of someone or a group of people who bike/s around the academic oval. i have chanced upon this picture po on google. i assure you that proper citation would be observed. i am hoping for your positive response. thank you very much! 🙂
I see a lot of people biking around the U.P Diliman area. I’d like to go about riding a bike but don’t have a huge budget to buy an expensive one. Questions:
1. Do you know of any biking groups I can join in the U.P area? 2. How much does a sturdy serviceable bike cost?
I am not familiar with any biking groups in UP, although there are lots of bikers who congregate in the vendor stall near the Faculty Center. If you want to try biking, it’s probably best to just go ahead and do it 🙂 you’ll meet other bikers eventually.
A good serviceable entry level bike should cost around 12k-15k. Bike frames specific to females may be a bit hard to find, but there are bike shops that stock them. (A buyer at pinoymtbiker.org even made the mistake of having a bike assembled with a female frame in a bike shop in Quiapo.) But you can always opt to just buy a male frame that fits your height.
Check out your local bike shop and look at the stuff they have. If you live in the UP area, visit Glorious Ride bikeshop. Another good bike shop nearby is JOhn Wilkie in Marikina. Quiapo and Cartimar have lots of bike shops, but they are a bit far from UP.
nagba-bike po ba kayo as a group in morning? preferably this coming thursaday, july 11, 2013? we need to video po kasi ng isang group of bikers for our program. This is anna po from solar tv. thank you.
